The 2018 EDAA Summer Conference was an unqualified success. The newly renovated Grand Hotel in Point Clear offered an exceptional environment for the event. The sessions were well attended and the “break out” sessions were extremely popular.

The 2018 Conference offered unparalleled professional development opportunities ranging from a presentation on Alabama’s need for improving infrastructure to an assessment of Alabama’s economic development efforts compared to other states.

The Conference also provided numerous networking opportunities including a craft beer reception, sponsored by the Alabama Municipal Electric Association, featuring products from several Alabama based breweries, and the Pool Party, sponsored by EDPA.

Governor Kay Ivey addressed the membership at the Governor’s Luncheon, sponsored by PowerSouth, and provided key insights into her vision for Alabama’s economic future. The Governor’s remarks were very much appreciated by those in attendance.

Again, EDAA’s Summer Conference is an important event in maintaining Alabama’s competitive advantage in economic development. Conference Chair, Kimberly Fuller and the conference committee did a wonderful job in planning a conference that contained vital information and networking events that created a unique experience.
